Not accepting registration

I have re-installed my OS and Moneydance 2017. However, it is not acdcepting my registration code.

I'm a fellow user.
This is often cause by one of the two following problems
1. a Typo when entering the key, cut and paste from the original email is the usual fix
2. The license you have is not for this version of moneydance. Licenses are version specific and normally work with the version you purchased and the next major release. to upgrade to something newer than this TIK (moneydance) makes available half price upgrades for existing customers.

Turns out there was a typo in the text file I keep my licenses stored in.
