Please can anyone tell me how to get a full screen view of Moneydance on a MacBook Screen. I can only find a way to display part of the screen with scroll bars for left and right. I would like to be able to size columns on the screen to see all at once

Well you will have to scroll to the column sliders to shrink the display to be smaller than that of your MacBook Pro screen. You can try playing with font sizes as well to get the display to be screen size.

    Hi Anne,

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you are saying MD is over scanning your Macbook screen? If that is the case a couple of things come to mind.

Are you running the default screen resolution on your Macbook? Normally, clicking the green traffic light will fill your screen perfectly. But maybe a combination of nonstandard screen resolution & enlarged Font within MD is causing a problem.

The only other thought is that you’ve recently had your Macbook attached to a larger display? And your Macbook still thinks it’s connected to same.

    I have both 13” & 15” Macbooks, but can’t simulate your problem.

I think there may be a few ways to interpret what you are describing. Could you perhaps attach a screenshot of your entire screen so we can see what you are? If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, please see http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

Apologies for not being clearer.  It’s actually the Summary Screen which first appears at logon.  The right-hand column does not display in full.  I have to use the scroll bar to see the far right of the column.

It’s the same on both my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.  I only have standard screen display settings.

    Cheers

    Anne

    Hi Anne,

I would imagine that resetting your config.dict file would fix this issue, as all the parameters about screens & position of program elements are held within that file.

Make sure you have a note of your licence key before you proceed. The normal thing to do is rename the file & let the program create a new default file so the program appears like it was the very first time you ran it.

But perhaps you can wait until Ethen confirms that would be the fix as he can give you full instructions of how to do the above if he agrees that it the way to proceed. Unless you are confident to do it yourself.

    Another suggestion:
    1. Go into System Preferences/Displays
    2. Chose "Scaled", then "More Space"
    3. Open Moneydance. You should now be able to see the whole window without scroll bars. Drag the corner to make the window much smaller. It should resize without invoking the scroll bar. If you are seeing a small window still with scroll bar arrows, try dragging the corner anyway.
    4. Go back to Sys Prefs/Displays/Scaled and re-select the screen res you were using before. The MD window should fit your screen without scroll bar.

The other issue is that there is a minimum size that MD allows for that display without scrolling. It depends on what widgets you display on the summary screen. I would suggest removing "Money Foresight" from the summary screen in the preferences and see if it can be shrunk further. This may be a setting in the graph for Money Foresight.

It also may be an incorrect setting in MD 2019.1 that I haven't used. The 2017.10 version allows the summary (without Money Foresight) to get quite narrow before forcing a scroll bar.
