If I change the current price from the correct value of 1 to say 1.00001, it reappears. Change it back to 1, it instantly disappears. When gone, it stays gone no matter what I do. The only way to get it back is to give it a current price other than 1.

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469558822019-02-13T22:41:26Z2019-02-13T22:41:26ZSecurity disappears from homepage if current price is 1

Let me query the developer as to if this is a bug or intentional. It may have been to keep cd's, money market funds, and such from cluttering the security pricing.

This was an intentional change in Moneydance 2019, because I didn't think it made sense to show a bunch of securities whose prices were all 1. Especially because things like bonds are usually fixed at a price of 1 and so showing them on the home page didn't provide any useful information. I'm happy to consider reversing that change if you think there's some other benefit to showing securities with a price of 1?

In my opinion if it is a fixed price type of security then it is not worth showing it, however if we are talking about shares then they should be shown, they should not disappear if the price his $1 then magically reappear if the price changes up or down from there.

It's going to be fairly rare for a share price to be exactly 1.

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469558822019-02-14T13:16:21Z2019-02-14T13:17:55ZSecurity disappears from homepage if current price is 1

Maybe (when there's nothing more important to worry about) the algorithm could be refined to look at history as well, and display if there is a price other than 1 there. (Either in all-time, or recently, or yesterday...)

(This would be a secondary test, that would only apply if current price was 1.)

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469558822019-02-14T19:54:19Z2019-02-14T19:54:19ZSecurity disappears from homepage if current price is 1

It probably should be remembered that there is an option to display the price on the summary page or not. I would suggest for a fixed price security you would normally have this deselected so that it does not show in any case.

dwg
