Net Worth != Net Worth

Hello. I have just experienced something very similar to - but not identical to - the issue discussed here <https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/2803-net-worth-net-worth-yikes>. Like earlier, this was a case of the net worth report not showing the net worth shown on the summary page. But In my case this was NOT due to MM fund pricing. But it was similar in that the price of some stocks had a single historical record that was incorrect. Some had more than one historical record that were not correct. I have deleted these bad records, and the issue has gone away. Seems like this should never happen. Obviously, two different computations are being used to compute the same thing from the same data. Seems like the computation should be the same. Just FYI.

I posted this on March 30. It is now April 5th and no response at all from MD staff. In the past I have had very good luck with support response. So this seems a change for the worse and that is disappointing.

Similar problem here. The net worth reported on the summary page in the top left is correct (a six-digit figure). The net worth reported in the graph element in the header of the page says I have -$58,000,000. I don't have securities so that can't be the problem.

Well, I found some of the pricing issues in some records of institutional CD's that I wouldn't normally consider to be securities but MD does. Another thing I eventually noticed is that the Net Worth computation shown on the summary page correctly ignores non-active accounts. However, in the net asset report, I have to carefully remove any accounts that are non-active. I also had to add in a new account that was active.

How do we submit this as a true bug report?

    Hi,

I'm not from MD Support, I'm another MD customer. Can each of you post the version/build number of Moneydance that you are using (Help > About Moneydance).
It will help to know if you are working with stable, or beta builds, same/different versions of MD.

    Regards,

    Tony (Not from IK Support)

Thanks, I'm sure that you meant (1855) and that was a typo. I'll post a link on the developer site to this discussion

And I am on 2017.10 (1706). I tried migrating to the later version and encountered a number of niggling issues. So went back to this. It is interesting to know that simply a later version is not the silver bullet to this issue.

    Hi,

It's too bad that no one has responded to you yet. There was just a bug posted about the Capital Gains report.

    https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/4355-cap...

Since I have absolutely no accounting background, I didn't know if the discussion raised any points possibly related to the issue that you've both described.

If not, at least this discussion will be brought back up to the top of the queue of "Recent Discussions". Perhaps another user could offer assistance.

    Good Luck,

    Tony (Not from MD Support)

Thanks for the link. However, while it does seem to involve security pricing, I do not think it is closely related to the problem being described here.

    Hello again,

Just thought that you both would like to know that there is a new stable release of MD 2019 that has resolved a number of issues. It is MD 2019.2 (1868) and it is available here:

FYI— the new release has not fixed this issue. The program still thinks I’m $54 million in debt.
