Sorry but, You can't get there from here. :)

Sorry but it was too good a line to let pass.

The reconciliation window is generated at the time you request it based on the current state of transactions that are in Moneydance, once you have finished the reconciliation the state of the transactions has changed, hence you cannot generate that exact same view again.

To put in another way. Moneydance firstly generates the current balance by the following calculation: Initial balance + cleared deposits - cleared payments.

You then enter the statement end balance. Moneydance then generates the reconciliation window by displaying those transactions that are marked as either uncleared or reconciling. Once you have finished the reconciliation and marked it done those cleared and reconciling states have changed for many transactions.

The last section of the following knowledge base article talks about when the starting balance goes wrong and possible causes.

Just a little aside… When I was a young man, I had no checking or savings account. What I had in my pocket, was what I had. When I would get my pay, it went into my wallet. When I went to bed, my wallet went into the pillowcase on my pillow. One morning I awoke and when I opened my wallet, I found that I was missing $20.00. That had a major impact on my finances as Uncle Sam was only paying me $64.00 a month plus meals and a bed, at that time.
To this day, I have no idea how I lost nearly one third of my monthly income but I remember the feeling. That was the same feeling I got when I began to reconcile last month with bank and found that the starting balance was off by $46. I know that it is not missing, but I felt a resurgence of that old feeling. At least now I know about the process. Done doesn’t mean Save. :)
Thanks again for your info.

jrmoye
