transactions from TD bank. I receive the following error: A

of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:
java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server
Certificate Chain
Please help.

I have also been getting this same error. I am not sure when it started, but I used online banking a few days ago so this just started happening for me as well.

Me too. I reported the same problem on 10/17/12 with the subject line, "Getting TD Bank "untrusted server certificate chain" error recently".
No MD personnel have responded. :-(

UPDATE: Fixed the problem by updating to the latest version of MD. No thanks to MD support personnel, I checked the download link to MD, which embeds the version in the URL (it would be easier if they stated the latest version somewhere on the download page.) The latest version is MD 2012 (825). I was running MD 2011r2 (803). After I updated, the problem is gone and I can sync with TD Bank again.
Note that the 2012 version changes the storage location of my account data. No longer is it in my ~/Documents folder. Now, it appears to be buried deep in a hidden folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/.moneydance
Also, the File|Save menu option, (previously bound to Command-S in Mac OSX) has been removed, so I must rely on MD deciding when to auto-save my data.
I would prefer to know where my data is, and have the choice to save it whenever I want.
Finally, when I upgraded, I had to point to my old data file (ending in .md) and "import" it. I also had to re-enter my License Key, because the new MD didn't inherit the existing key. (Maybe this is because I tried to run the new MD directly from my download folder, before copying it into my Application folder. Dunno.)
Anyway, problem solved.

Hi all,
We've seen some recent issues with bank downloads which have been resolved with some tweaks to Moneydance 2011. Could you please try updating to Moneydance 2011 r2+ (Build 808), which is available here? If this doesn't resolve your issue please do let us know and we'll keep working on it.

I upgraded to build 808 by replacing the .jar file and i still have the same error with TD bank.. Honestly i dont see why you are recommending to download a preview build to resolve an issue. TD bank downloads have worked fine up until a few days ago so something changed somewhere and needs to be resolved.

I'm experiencing the same error with TD Bank using Moneydance 2011r2 (Build 803) on Mac OS X. I downloaded and tried 2011r2+ (Build 808), and I get the same error with this build. As others have noted, TD Bank downloads were working only a few days ago.
@Angie, please keep working on it. Thanks.

Hi All,
It looks like TD Bank recently updated their security certificate, and the new one is causing trouble with Moneydance 2011 (including build 808). I've notified our lead developer about the problem, and we'll get a fix out as soon as possible. Alternatively, the problem is fixed in the latest version of Moneydance 2012, which you can download from our website at: http://infinitekind.com/downloads. If you are using Dropbox or another online storage system to share your data file though, I would suggest sticking with 2011 for now, as Dropbox sharing is currently disabled in MD 2012.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We'll let you know when a fix is released.

Jessica,
Having the same issue over here. The link you provide for the preview releases of 2011 does not have a working link to the Linux version. Also, can't upgrade to 2012 to fix the issue because I'm experiencing the issue that others are having regarding moving the data file to .moneydance and it just won't open. So, I'm in a catch 22 type situation. I have used Moneydance since 2006 and this is the first time I've had this much trouble...very dissappointing.

HI Hish,
Try this link for build 808.

I don't know the first thing about linux but take a look in the 'Installers' folder.

Also having the problem with Moneydance 2010r3 (757).
Any chance that version will see a fix?
(I never updated to MD 2011 or MD 2012 as MD 2010 has been working fine for me and frankly I didn't see any reason to purchase an upgrade)
If it's simply a certificate error, in theory, would it be possible to manually import the new certificate chain into the jre key store used by moneydance?

I'm not sure if we can update 2010 to fix this, though I suspect it's possible. I'll check in with our developers and get back to you on that.

Thanks Jessica. Or, as I posted earlier, if there are instructions whereby I could manually fix my java install, that would be great as well.

Not trying to be a pain about this, but any chance someone from Moneydance could post an explanation of what broke? Isn't a certificate a certficate? Meaning, just because TD Bank updated their certificate, I wouldn't expect it to break direct connect within Moneydance.

Hi All,
I'm very sorry for the delay on this. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be able to update older versions of Moneydance to fix this bug. In order to connect to TD Bank, you'll need to install Moneydance 2012. We're working on an update to 2012 that will resolve the Dropbox sharing issues in the current version, so folks using Dropbox or another cloud file storage system to share their file should hold off until the until the update is available (which should be very soon).
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We'll let you know when the update to Moneydance 2012 is available.

If you wish to use the 2012 release of Moneydance, and wish to continue to use Dropbox or some other file sharing system, just follow the guide at:

I updated to 2012 to address the TD Bank glitch. I then made a copy of my 2011 data file (so I would still have the original in case of a screw up), followed your instructions to change the file name on the 2011 data file, but still the program WILL NOT IMPORT the MD data from 2011 to 2012. this has left me with NO financial records; all is inaccessible. How do I get 2012 to import my 2011 file? What am I missing here? PLEASE HELP!!!!

What exactly happens when you try to import your file? If you get any error message, could you copy them here?

This comment was split into a new private discussion: problem import 2011 file into 2012
Thank you for the reply. Nothing happens. The import window goes away and I'm still at the home screen with the default accounts and no data. Any ideas?
