iPhone Sync with Moneydance
Details - Mac Pro
Moneydance Trial - not yet purchased Ver 2012 (825)
Dropbox folder at Users/stardog2000
I followed the directions (video) to setup sync. Sync is set to
dropbox in the network sync extension, password set, enabled
On the iPhone (4S), the app always opens to the Sync Options
screen. Clicking on the Dropbox button reveals the message No
Moneydance files were found that have been configured to sync using
this Dropbox account. The screen indicated I am connected (signed
in) to my Dropbox account.
I did work through the iPhone setup once (i.e. Allow Dropbox access to the Moneydance file.) Now it always opens to the "No files were found..." message
I opened the Dropbox folder on the Mac and did not see any files
related to moneydance in it. At the time I was viewing all files,
even invisible ones,
thinking the MD file might be hidden
Is syncing permitted on a trial version? This is something I would like to know works prior to purchase.
Any ideas. Thanks for your help
Dave

On a whim, I downloaded the MoneyDance iPhone/iPad app to my iPad. I proceeded through the sync process again as with the iPhone --> Click Dropbox - Login at Dropbox website - click the Allow button to permit file access. Afterwards the app on the iPad responded the same as on my iPhone -- No files were found....
I did confirm the Moneydance data folder is where it should be for a sandboxed Mac (SAGAN II:Users:stardog2000 1:Library:Containers:com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX:Data:Library:Application Support:Moneydance
It seems the problem lies with my Mac not getting a file on link setup to the Dropbox folder. What am I doing wrong?!

Dave,
Setting up syncing with Moneydance 2012 is a little different than with Moneydance 2011, which might be causing the problem. Can you please try following the setup instructions here and seeing if that helps? Let me know how that goes and we'll keep going from there,

I followed instructions exactly . . . File -> Syncing... ; Dropbox enabled via popup; I had already set a password but viewed it so I would remember it for step 7. I deleted the MoneyDance app from my Phone and re-downloaded it so I would be experiencing I newly opened app. I choose Dropbox, I was auto-signed in Dropbox (by my phone, I guess. Now I was on the page requesting permission to access the file. I clicked the button allowing access. The screen did a rotational flip and the "No files were found ... " message was displayed. There was no opportunity to enter the password I created on the Mac
The Dropbox folder is where it belongs in my user folder
As I said above the MoneyDance data folder is properly located for sandboxed apps
Thanks Dave

Dave,
We've sometimes seen this issue occur when the Network Synchronizer extension is installed in Moneydance 2012. Could you please remove the extension (under Extensions->Manage Extensions) and setting up the Sync from the File menu and seeing if this helps? Let me know and we'll go forward from there,
