Moneypie Extension - not the latest version. How to install it?
In researching budgets, some of the tools I'd like to use look to be in the latest version of the moneypie extension (v. 480). However, when I go to Mange Extensions within Moneydance, I seem to only be able to "install" version 477. This version doesn't have the tools I need to use, and I can't seem to find any discussion threads talking about how to correct this.
How can I manually force/install an upgrade to Moneypie v480?
Thanks!!

Hi Rob,
You can download v.480 from the developers website:

I Rob - yes I know I can download it there: that wasn't my question as all. My question "How can I manually force/install an upgrade...".
When opening Manage Extensions there isn't an import option or something similar. You're just stuck adding or removing whatever extensions Moneydance offers. I see no other preferences or options to choosing your own extensions or managing extension versions. It's either v. 477 or nothing.
The only other thing I can guess is that I have to manually overwrite a local file, but the file structure and folder locations aren't quite as obvious as most, and with the way the network sharing groups and packages files I don't want to risk just messing with files without some guide or instructions to follow on how to manually install a different version of a supported extension.
So I appreciate your help, bug again my original question wasn't addressed at all. How can I manually force/install an upgrade to Moneypie v480?
Thanks!

Also, maybe I'm just not asking the right question? My assumption is that to use an extension it must be used and managed AS a valid Moneydance extension through the Moneydance Menus. Is this true? Or are you suggesting that just by downloading it I can basically run it as a separate program from Moneydance altogether, and the two will open and inter-operate automatically? If so, then that doesn't seem to do anything towards integrating v480 into the home page view either.

Hi Rob,
Sorry about that. I misunderstood your question.
Download v.480 from the ragingcoders website
I believe it is a .zip file.
Extract the files to a accessible location. e.g. Desktop.
The moneyPie.mxt file is the one you're interested in.
Open Moneydance, remove the installed version of MoneyPie (if any)
Drag and drop the moneyPie.mxt file that you just downloaded onto the Moneydance window to install it. You can disregard the eerie warning message.
MoneyPie will then become an item under the Extensions menu in Moneydance.

Thanks Kevin - worked like a charm. I don't think I would have figured that
out on my own.

Hi Walter,
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help.
Don't feel bad, I don't know how anyone is supposed to figure it out.
Are you and 'Rob', the original poster who was having this trouble, the same person?
