Turn off folder generation with DropBox
Hello,
I have syncing turn off, however Moneydance persistently creates a folder in my DropBox environment called \Dropbox\.moneydancesync. This Dropbox is a work folder and I am looking for a way for this folder to be no longer created, even though it is empty..
With thanks,
Mich.

Hi Mich,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
To check, open Moneydance and select Help --> About Moneydance (or Moneydance --> About Moneydance on a Mac) where the version and build number will be displayed.
Normally when 'Don't Sync' is selected, the 'Shared Folder' location shouldg be forgotten by Moneydance”.
You should also delete the folder “.moneydancesync” in Dropbox, if haven't already.
Thank you

Hi Maddy,
Thanks for your email and pardon the delayed response. I'm using version
2019.3 (1880). After moving my local Dropbox folder from the top-level to a
subfolder, the .moneydancesync no longer reappears. The 'Don't Sync'
function had been selected, so it was likely moving Dropbox out of 'reach'
for Moneydance that fixed it.
Aside from that, happy with the product.
Best,
Michael

I believe that this is also tru on 2019.4(1896). If you look at MD console log for every version of MD that I know of (back to 2012). It always starts out:
base sync folder: /Users/sth/Dropbox/.moneydancesync
base sync folder: /Users/sth/Dropbox/.moneydancesync
independent if one has syncing turned on or off. This check for a sync folder possibly also creates one.
