Im attempting to export to .QIF and Moneydance exports but only as a text file. How can I export to .QIF?

    I'm a fellow user.

    QIF files are text files, it is just that they have a defined structure.

    Many programs on Personal computers determines the file type based on the file extension, does the file you produced have a .QIF extension? If you are concerned that the file is not a QIF file post the first dozen lines or so, it is pretty easy to determine if it is a QIF file by looking at the contents.

    Hi Mark,
    Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

    In order to Export to a .qif format, within Moneydance navigate to File->Export->select Format->QIF->OK and save it on your desktop, for instance.

    If you right click on the saved file and select properties, it will display: File type QIF.
