I am trying to do several things and just can't seem to "search" the right way in the knowledge base.

I am trying to exclude my savings from my budget.

My Budget Bars are showing empty even after entering items in the register.

3.Is there a way to change the color of the budget bar up top? It shows orange (which makes me think caution, maybe rightfully so).

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the budget is of the right date range. (i.e. 1/1/2020 to 12/31/2020)

sthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-19T14:57:23Z2020-01-19T14:57:24ZMoneydance Issues

I have transferred $50 to savings. My budget still says I have $1000 even though with that $50 in savings, I only have $950 available to me.

How do I exclude that savings account from being calculated into my available funds?

On the summary page the budget shows actual expenses verses the actual budgeted amount. If the amount budgeted for a category is $1000 then it will stay $1000. Transfers to the Savings budget category will show a change in the year to date amount, but not the budgeted amount.

If you are looking at a budget report. Then it will include categories and accounts as specified in the report setup.

Some screen shots might help understand what report you are looking at and what the issue is.
As far as I can see, you have the list of bank accounts on the left with $950 in one and $50 in savings. You have a budget on the right, with a list of amounts that are set by the monthly amount in the budget "2020" that you selected.

This seems to reflect the register. You had income of $1000 and no expenses. Moving money between accounts is neither income or expense. If you want to restrict the accounts considered, use the "Budget" in the Reports Tools->reports and select the report. You can edit the report to only show certain accounts and how to view transfers.

sthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T17:41:29Z2020-01-20T17:41:30ZMoneydance Issues

Oh. Ok, so only in Reports can they be separated?

Another question: how can one change the date/tax date, check#, description labels? Sorry for the pettiness on this one, but it matters. ;)
Susan

Susan Balloutag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T21:19:13Z2020-01-20T21:19:13ZMoneydance Issues

I think that is right, I am still not perfectly clear on what you are looking for.

The column headings are fixed (unless the program has been translated into different languages). Description will always be labeled description as part of the programing setup of the register display.

sthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T21:24:30Z2020-01-20T21:24:31ZMoneydance Issues

LOL, email/text is so hard to understand… I wish I could call but I live very remote and couldn’t call if I had to.

If there’s a way to submit a proposal to change the headers for descriptions, I’d love to do so.

Is there a way to remove the budget bar at the top?

Again, thanks for trying to help me!
I’ve created a new budget. Bi weekly option.
I need the date to start on the 17th, not the 19th.
How do I change this?

Susan Balloutag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T21:55:59Z2020-01-20T21:55:59ZMoneydance Issues

I agree about email.. You can hide the status plot/budget bars by going to View->Hide Status Graph.

There is a suggestions forum at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions but I don't know how closely it is monitored.

I am not sure how to make your bi-weekly budget start on a Wednesday.

sthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T21:58:13Z2020-01-21T14:37:28ZMoneydance Issues

The start date should be the date I get paid, which is a Friday - last Friday is the 17th ;)

Are there videos that might help me get started?

Susan

Susan Balloutag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T22:02:10Z2020-01-20T22:02:12ZMoneydance Issues

Ok, so here’s the problem I’m experiencing:

If I’m correct, it shows I have $1000 in the budget for January 5, 2020. Therefore it shows I have no income as of January 19, 2020. Its hard to budget when you don’t have the money in the correct column.

Am I viewing this incorrectly?

Susan Balloutag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480151442020-01-20T23:03:56Z2020-01-20T23:03:56ZMoneydance Issues

I have never tried to set up a bi-weekly budget so I can't help you much there. But this is a list of budgeted amounts and not a report. You would have to look at the report on the budget.

Expand the graphs and reports drop down and select the Budget Report. Edit the report to make sure it has the budget you want selected and the year to date info or whatever dates you want.

sth
