Payee List

When I type in the start of a Payee name, the pop up menu only shows up to 10 possibilities. But in several cases I have many more payees starting the same -- e,g, starting with my city name. How can I access the full list? Why is it not handled in the same way as categories. I selected "Show selection details" as "In a separate popup" in preferences, but that only affected Categories.

    Hi Andrew,

Payee names are sorted in alphabetical order, so depending on how many you have under a specific letter, it will result in a longer/smaller list.

However, if you notice any anomalies with the feature, if it's easier, you can send us a screenshot of what you're seeing. You can read instructions for taking a screenshot here - https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

    Thank you

    Hi Maddy,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I would send a screen shot, but when I hit any key (to capture the screen) the popup menu disappears!

My issue is that I have 15 different payees starting “Gloucester…” (e.g. Gloucester Daily Times, Gloucester Police Patrolmans Fund, Gloucester Water and Sewer, etc) which I cannot condense because they are either different entities, or have different Categories.

However your popup menu only shows the first(?) 10 with no slider to show more – so I have no way to select the 5 that are not displayed.

I selected "Show selection details" as "In a separate popup" in preferences, but that only affected Categories.

My version (just downloaded) is 2019.3 (1880)

The simple(?) fix would be to handle the Payee popup like the Categories popup.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew

See if this works for you.
Example if you want to select the category “Gloucester Daily Times,” don’t start typing “Glouc..” instead type “Daily Ti…”.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that does not work. Seems you must start typing with the first letters in the Payee.

    Hi Andrew

May be you could spend time using the extension Find and Replace so payees (description) don’t start with the same word.

    Hope this helps.
