Foresight Forecast
Just upgraded to version 2019.3. When using the Foresight Forecast extension, the 'Future Period" date selection is greyed out and will not allow selection of a future period (only default "1 month" period is usable). I'm using the latest macOS (Catalina 10.15.3).
The following attempts to fix the issue have not be successful:
1) Closed and restarted Moneydance.
2) Shut down and restarted macOS
3) Removed and reinstalled Moneydance 2019.3
4) Shut down and restarted macOS and Moneydance again
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Money Foresight is an extension for MoneyDance by Mahana Road Software Ltd.
The free version only allows you to see 1 Month ahead. If you got to Register → Activation in the Extension & pay $10 the 1 month limit is removed.
Only you can decide if it is worth the money! The $10 also only gives you 12 month of free updates. Too expensive for me!
This extension is NOT part of MoneyDance.

Hi Wayne,
I was wondering if you updated the extension, in addition to updating Moneydance.
Money Foresight offers free updates for a year after purchase. If you've updated the extension and it is 12 months past the purchase date, it will behave as the trial version. Here's a previous discussion on the matter:

Here's a link to the website.

IF you hadn't updated the extension, and just updated Moneydance, I am not sure what the reason would be behind the behavior you are seeing.

Oops, now that I think about it. If you updated Moneydance and chose the MoneyForesight extension from within Moneydance (Rather than uploading your licensed version from a .mxt file using Extensions > Manage Extensions > Add from File), you would have been in the same situation that we were in, since the latest version is on the selection list.
In any event, you have the options as presented in the discussion, to either downgrade, or upgrade at half price.
Sorry for my confusion.
Good Luck,
Tony

Thank you Jeff and Tony for the very quick responses! Super helpful. That explains it...yes I updated Moneydance from a very old version (2014 I think). My old version had a fully operative forecaster extension so I must have registered it back then. When I updated Moneydance I immediately went to the extensions and installed the new Foresight Forecast, which I now understand is the free version supporting only a 1 month forecast. Perhaps had I not installed the new extension, my old forecaster extension may still have been available to import but when I didn't see under the extensions tab I just went and downloaded the new extension. (I no longer have the extension registration code anyway.)
Thank you again for solving the mystery! It wasn't obvious to me what the issue was, so your timely help is much appreciated!
Wayne

I'm a fellow user.
An extension for 2014 or earlier will not work on Moneydance 2015 or later as the Moneydance API changed in that version so it is necessary to update all extensions when you upgraded Moneydance.
If I recall correctly Moneydance 2019 necessitated a further upgrade to Money Foresight as there is quite a jump in Java versions in this release.
