Will not reconcile

Trying to balance my checking register. I highlighted the bank account, selected reconciliation - a new register appeared ( opening balance looked wrong) . according to online help, there should be a window where I type in my ending balance, but that window does not pop up.

Hi charles,
It sounds like you may be accessing the Reconciliation report.
Clicking 'Reconciliation' (from the left sidebar) calls up the Reconciliation report.
This is NOT the means to reconcile your account.
To reconcile your account, select the account in question from the left sidebar.
Then, from the Moneydance menu bar, go to Account > Reconcile.
You'll then see the form to enter your Ending Statement Balance.
