Can you clarify where you are seeing this date changed? Is it in the reminder settings for a specific reminder, the transaction, etc? If it's easier to do so, you can attach a screenshot. If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, please see http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

I am not really interested in what has gone on in the past in relation to a
particular entry. I know my data really well and correct any entries that I
think are incorrect day by day. I only wrote to you so that you would have
a record if someone else mentioned a similar problem. I have payments
that are weekly, monthly, every four weeks, quarterly and annually. The
only ones I have had problems with are monthly and four weekly. I have
looked on my back up copies for the last ten days. I think I can see why I
am having problems on the payments to be made on a specific day every four
weeks. If I make the first payment on 8 June 2020. Please tell me what the
next two payment days should be.

I'm sure you understand your data well! What I'm trying to do is understand exactly what your describing. I can't think of other situations like this, but I may not be understanding what you are describing about the date changing. If you could try to describe where this date is changing (or attach a screenshot if that's easier), that would be a good place to start.

I am attaching a print of a reminder for 27 July 2020.

As you can see the first occurrence was on 8 June 2020. THe next was on 23
June. It actually appeared in the register on 22 June.

On the face of it the program did not use 8 June as its starting point for
calculating due dates..

I may or may not have inadvertently misled you.

I told you that I knew my data really well. I run control totals almost
every day so I know when there is a problem. I then go looking for a
reason. In the cases where I know a payment has been made earlier than it
should I search for the next occurrence. The screen print I let you have
yesterday confused me a little bit because the last date was shown as 23
June 2020. I looked again today at the payment due on 27 July 2020. The
last date shown is 24 June 2020. Because I usually found errors on the day
they occurred I thought the last date shown was last transfer. Not so. It
seems to simply be the system date.

It is another question entirely what help that date was supposed to give.

John

John Rosstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/484144062020-06-24T18:29:59Z2020-06-24T18:29:59ZReminders / Regular Payments

Hello John,

Thanks for clarifying. You'll notice that 'last date' field in your screenshot is greyed out, because the check box to activate that function just to the left of it isn't active. By default it is greyed out and filled with the current date, but that date is meaningless unless you activate that option. Is this where you are seeing the date changes that you are describing? I thought that you were saying that these transactions were appearing in your register earlier than expected, on 23 June from your last message. But if the only place you're seeing this date issue is in the reminder screen, then it sounds like the program is behaving as it should. If you are seeing a transaction from the reminder appear in your register early, could you also attach a screenshot of that? We may be able to see something in there that hints at what is going on.
