I was testing th moneydance and had a md file. When I bought the moneydance from Apple store, the "new"moneydance couldn't open the old file. and I don't have a valid license only the apple receipt. I don't want to loose my file with the transactions, what can I do??

    Hi Monica,

Did you have a .md file from Moneydance 2011 or earlier and tried importing it into the Mac App Store version of Moneydance? If so, I would suggest trying to rename the old .md file and try importing it again to see if that works. Also, I would suggest making a copy of your .md file somewhere just in case, if you're concerned about losing data. If you're still unable to import the file, please let us know exactly what you're doing and what error you're receiving so we can try to figure out what's going on and fix it.

I'm using the demo mode: and there still a limit to manual
transactions...and I tried to change the name of the .md file and did't
    work...

    I don't have a key - the itunes receipt doesn't have inside....

    Hi Monica,

It looks like you purchased the Mac App Store version, but installed the version from our website. Since the Mac App Store version's licensing is managed by Apple, you have to use the version from the Mac App Store to get out of demo mode. To do this, I would suggest completely uninstalling and deleting any moneydance applications you have (but not your .md file(s)!), and opening the Mac App Store and installing Moneydance from there. After doing that, please try importing your file(s) again and let us know if you get any errors and what the error is if you do.

    Monica,
Alternatively, you could request a refund for the full purchase price from Apple's App Store, then purchase a License Key from www.infinitekind.com/purchase2011 . In doing this, you will not be "Locked" in to using only the releases of Moneydance available from Apple's App Store.

Thank you Scott. I took my info from off of the link at www.infinitekind.com/purchase .

The link pointed to purchase2011 as of the time of my last post. I checked before I actually posted the info.

Feels much better that the purchase2012 is working.

    Hi James F,

Yes, I noticed that error after you posted that and then told Sean about it--so it was wrong when you first saw it. Thanks for making me aware of it!
