Moneydance 2012 starts ip, but with no menu items or windows open, so the app is unusable

Hi I've been running Moneydance 2011 with no issues, but tried out v2012 (build 825) today and had some problems. When I launch the app for the first time I get the License Agreement screen and then the Getting Started With Moneydance window. I select "Create a New File" and accept the defaults. But after that, I don't see any application windows and the only items in the menu bar are the Apple menu and Moneydance options. No File, Edit... etc (see screenshot). If I re-launch the app, I just get the same two menu and no windows. Deleting the data directory and importing my old Moneydance data file results in the same behavior. So, basically v2012 is unusable. This is my environment:

13" MacBook Air 2013
OS X 10.8.2
Java 1.6.0_35

Any idea as to whats going on?

   OK, so re-downloading Moneydance 2012 fixed the problem.
