The manual document feed on this
printer centers the sheet on the drum rather than positioning it
where the top of a full sheet would be. Moneydance formats the page
for printing checks starting at the top of the page, regardless of
how many checks I tell it are on the first sheet. The result of
this is that checks only print correctly from a full page of 3
checks. If I have only 2 or 1 left on a sheet, the checks to be
printed are misaligned or lost, because it prints where the top of
a full sheet would be, whereas the the printer positions the checks
centered at where the center of a full sheet would be. Has anyone
been able to successfully print with this model printer? How can I
configure MD to print properly? I am using Mac OS 10.6.2</p></div>xraydougtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/8146822010-01-07T06:56:12Z2010-01-07T06:56:12ZPrinting checks on HP Laserjet 4MV<div><p>I have used several printers that center a manually fed page.
Are you sure your problem isn't related to portrait vs. landscape
mode? How are you feeding in partial pages of checks, from the top
or from the side?</p>
<p>I use a Mac too (10.5), and I've never been able to print in
landscape mode (i.e., feeding partial pages from the side). In
trying to figure out why the Print dialog in Moneydance does not
include that option, I looked at several other programs on my Mac.
The location of the page orientation setting varies from program to
program. For example, in Firefox, page orientation is not in the
Print dialog; it is in a separate Page Setup dialog (which
Moneydance does not have).<br></p>
<p>My solution has always been to feed partial pages into the
printer in the same fashion as full pages: from the top.</p></div>John Seldentag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/8146822010-01-07T17:09:32Z2010-01-07T17:09:32ZPrinting checks on HP Laserjet 4MV<div><p>Thanks, John.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, this printer assumes the pages are being fed in
with the long edge leading for portrait printing. Since MD does not
allow changing to landscape mode, your suggestion will not work for
me. If I feed the pages in from the top, the printing will be
sideways.</p></div>xraydoug
