I recently had to restore a backup and make some changes to my accounts. After a long process I ended up with a new account file name. My previous account had been sync'd to another computer. I want to sync the new account to the other computer, but when I try, it does not find it. As long as I have to change things, I also want to change the type of sync to shared folders from dropbox (I know that will not work for mobile apps, but I don't use mobile). When I go to file-syncing, I cannot change the settings for sync - they are greyed out. (this IS the primary computer I am on). How do I change the sync settings and/or make the primary computer, a PRIMARY computer like it is supposed to be. Or, how do I turn off syncing completely on my primary system and just start over?

I have searched the knowledge base, and throughout Moneydance for info with no luck. Help!

Thank you.

this script will change a (restored) dataset to be known as a master dataset. This will then allow you to select the sync options.

(not support, just a fellow user)

Thank you Stuart Beesley! Worked like a charm. For those who are not python users/moneydance developers, here is what I did using Stuart's script:
    Click on Windows-ShowMoneyBot Console
(it was there for me, but it may need developers console? Not sure...)
Open Stuart's script you downloaded and put on your computer by clicking on Open in top left corner of MoneyBot screen
Click on Run after you see the script in the window on left side
    Close MoneyBot screen
    Restart Moneydance
File-Sync will now give you the options you want.
By the way I am using V2020 (2010). No idea if that matters in the above.

Great - FYI - this fix is already in my Toolbox extension to make it easier for users.....
