Now I have created a new credit card account, but I cannot move it into the new account, because Batch Change is not an option in the right click menu of the loan account. Is there a way of moving the transactions from the loan account into the credit card account? If not I would have to import the LOC from Quicken again, but I am concerned that importing a single account would mess up all the associated transfers.

haroldtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/490255242021-02-10T20:49:21Z2021-02-10T20:49:21ZDirect Connect with Tangerine and Line of Credit needs to be Classified as a Credit Card in MD

It’s up to you but there is an option in the toolbox extension to force change an accounts type. An important difference! In fact I just tried and I CAN batch change from a liability account to a cc account?! Are you on the latest MD? But not from a loan account.

If you do mean loan, have you set up reminders etc for the repayments etc?

By all means just test on a backup. To do this do file export backup and then file open that backup then try the test. Afterwards just file open your original.

It’s late here in U.K. but I’m happy to play with this tomorrow. I know that the Loan might be slightly different, but liability accounts should be fine.

I have force changed the TD LOC from loan account to a credit card account and so far it seems good. I have now been able to manually download the LOC transactions from my bank. However, the transfers to my checking account and investment account are not pointing to the respective categories/accounts, so I have to do that manually. Does the sequence of downloads matter for accounts that have transfers to other accounts? First I downloaded the LOC then the bank account.
For some reason when I manually download investment transactions from my broker (TD Direct Investing) the only transaction that is downloaded is a sample security with a zero value.

I cannot download any transactions from my Tangerine LOC that I had set up as a cc account in the original data file. The TD LOC I force changed from a loan to a cc account as mentioned does work and I was able to download data from the TD website. The Tangerine LOC account is classified as a cc account in MD and in the Force Account Type Change tool but in the OFX Tools in View Bank Profiles the entry says "cc account: is false"; the same is true for my other 3 Tangerine accounts (2 savings and one CC account); the entry “get account type says “credit line”.

When I click download all accounts in MD all Tangerine accounts get polled and the status bar at the bottom says that it downloaded zero new transactions. The other 2 accounts have no new transactions but the LOC does.

Should I be running some of the OFX tools on this account or do you have other suggestions?

I went back to the original data file and found that I could not download any transactions from the Tangerine LOC either.

You had a problem with TD not downloading your LOC account. So you used Toolbox to change the account type from Loan to Credit Card, and now TD is downloading OK - so this is good and fixed?

You had a problem with Tangerine. This has never worked. The account you created in the first place was already a Credit Card in MD? You have not used Toolbox on this Account/bank setup?

You haven't said whether you are getting anything downloaded now (or in the past) to your other Tangerine accounts successfully?

I'm now confused. What actually is the account type that won't download?

Regarding Tangerine:
- are you talking about: Tangerine Bank (Canada) (md:2164)? - the isCCAccount() field is set when you setup online banking. There is a message that says "CCACCTINFO" and when this is sent then this field becomes True. There's no point forcing this if the bank isn't saying it's properly supported. - what does Toolbox say about isBankAccount(), isBillPayAccount() etc? If it says isBankAccount() True then you might have a chance....

The thing is I have no idea whether Tangerine and MD support each other with your account.

If it were me, especially as it's never worked. I would use toolbox to delete the bank logon profile for Tangerine. Then open console and with console open, do the bank setup wizard again. Keeping console open, try to download the account. If it doesn't work we need to look in the console output and see what's going on, especially with the "CCACCTINFO" tag and go from there.

WARNING, the output can contain sensitive info...

If you want to email me directly, feel free....
re 1: yes that works now
re 2&3: correct, I just confirmed that I did not import the Tangerine LOC from Quicken, but created it as a cc account in MD. I might have messed it up when I set it up. It is listed with a Direct Connection in MD but a Tangerine manager told me that he did not think that Tangerine offered a Direct Connection with Quicken. On the Quicken forum I read that Tangerine can be reached from the USA via Direct Connection but not from Canada even though it is a Canadian bank?! If I first do a manual download from the bank website could that confuse a Direct Connection?

When I click the download button in MD for the Tangerine accounts I do get prompted for the passwords and the status bar does indicate that transactions are downloading, but there are zero new downloads. That does mean that I actually have a Direct Connection with Tangerine. The LOC account does have new transactions because they were never downloaded, the others (a savings account (imported from Quicken) and a cc account set up newly in MD) do not because there are no new transactions since the last successful download.

re 4: it is a line of credit that I have set up as credit card account in MD

Yes the MD TIK service ID is 2164

Could a recent transfer into the LOC account initiated from the source checking count block preceding downloads? I have attached 2 screenshots from the Tangerine bank profile. I will wait to hear from you before I go ahead with deleting the bank profile.
Thanks

haroldtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/490255242021-02-14T14:58:24Z2021-02-14T14:58:24ZDirect Connect with Tangerine and Line of Credit needs to be Classified as a Credit Card in MD

Well, this is all a bit of guesswork.... Two things:
- your bank has signalled isAvailable() False - but also this account is signalled by the bank as isBankAccount() True (i.e. a bank account and not a CC account)... However, I think MD doesn't care, but I'm not sure about that..

The first thing I would try is this.
Help Show Console and with it open do the download and see what messages you get in console? This might give a clue...

If it doesn't then personallyy I would delete the profile and setup again (you can't lose anything as it's not working anyway), but with console OPEN.... and review the messages. Again, this is your choice, and pls do a backup first.....

I forced the account type from loan to credit card, but that did not allow me to download. Then I changed the download setting on the bank site from Download Since the Last Time to a specified time period and this time it worked. So the issue was with the bank site not with MD. So far the forced change did not cause any inconsistencies. I am still working on the file and will keep you posted if I find any.

The Toolbox window closing and sizing issue has not happened again, but I will send you the log when it does. I want to also let you know that the Toobox window cannot be snapped to one side when I want to work with 2 windows side by side.

Overall I think your extension is really helpful to clean up a complex QIF Quicken import like mine. I am still updating and integrating my downloads and once I have done that I will use it more to check for inconsistencies.
