Application crashes when trying to use Reports and graphs
I just updates to the las version of MoneyDance and I encounter the seme problem as with the previous version. I updated because I thought it was s problem of compatibility with the last version of MacOS, but the sea problem occurs with latest version 2021 (2006).
What happens is the I use everything as usual, but when I select a report and try to change parameters in the report the app becomes unstable and not responsible I am forced to Force Quit. Also, I tried in different files but the result is the same.
Any ideas?

Same here.
I first discovered the issue while trying to open a Portfolio Report from the left-side list.
Great going.
Right at tax time!
Jeez.
When will this be fixed?

There are several issues at play here...
Big Sur causes instability problems with Moneydance.....
AND
MD2021.2006 has a java problem.
For the Mac
- Please change Mac settings, General, Prefer Tabs, to Never or fullscren.
And - you ideally need preview build 3034. However, yesterday this was pulled from the website as IK loaded build 3037/8/9 which is broken on the Mac and now 3034 is no longer available either.
up to you, but I have uploaded build 3034 here. Your decision to download, but it is a good version for the Mac.

OK thanks!
That bit about the Tabs fixes it.
I just wonder how that setting of "Never" will affect my other apps.
And I'm using version 2021 (2006) which i just downloaded today.
I'll try your link later.
My ISP is all messed up today.

If I read the situation correctly it looks like the tab setting was introduced in Big Sur, so the setting workaround being used is just making it like how older versions worked.
Of course I could be wrong, MacOS is not my language :)

Guess I’ll find out.
I have no idea what that feature/preference actually does.
Thanks again.
It’s working now.
Took me for a loop though.
The company should warn users when an issue like this arises.

No, it’s not like previous versions when you deselect this feature.
This is a problem only Moneydance has, and it’s up to them to fix it.
They just released this version as being compatible with Big Sur, and it really isn’t.
If I have to remember to go into my System Prefs every time I want to use Moneydance and then turn it off when I’m done (because I like Tabs in document readers like Preview) I’ll just stop using Moneydance completely.
I use both MD and Quicken Mac at the moment because entering everything in twice helps to reveal mistakes.
But if MD also has these snafus built in to it, it’s not worth the time.
It’s like I have to troubleshoot the app that I’m using to troubleshoot with.

Yes it is up to Moneydance to fix it, but this setting is only necessary in Big Sur so I have to conclude that Apple changed something. Apple can and will change things, but in doing so breaking applications becomes a possibility and changes have been breaking Moneydance since Sierra.

Apple is just giving us new options in the new OS.
Default behaviour prior to Big Sur was Tabs.

@All
Unfortunately we found a bug in the preview version that was affecting MacOS, as soon as it was released, so we had to disable its download temporarily.
A new download link for Mac users is now available from this page.
For a full list of improvements in the preview version, please refer to this page.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I’m not wild about using beta software, especially at tax time.
The current official release appears to be MD 2021 (2006).
When will these beta features and bug fixes be released in an official version?
In the meantime, I can get around this bug with the suggested workaround.

So has this ever been fixed?
FWIW The beta version at the link below has the same problem with crashing when trying to edit a Portfolio Report.
So I don’t what good it’s supposed to do.
I still have to turn off the Mac Preference to prefer Tabs.
And now some new hell has emerged.
I’ve lost the ability to change the Sort order in all my accounts.
The little flip arrow is not there on most of the columns.
And when it is there it does nothing after the first time you click on it.
The 1st time, it *will* re-sort the list.
But then you can’t re-sort it back again.
This one has nothing to do with the new Mac System Pref for Tabs.
Edit: This seems to be intermittent and eventually (approx. 60 secs) the ability to Sort or Re-sort does come back for awhile.
Pitiful.
Right at tax time.
Unbelievable.
And I see that the latest official release is still 2021 (2006).
So, NOTHING has changed.
So glad I decided to get Quicken Mac too.
Jeez.

No. This preview release does NOT fix the problem.
It's even worse now with screen flickering.
Sheesh.
Who told you that it did?
