Common issues are:
1/ the wrong account has been selected
2/ you are on a secondary computer. Check preferences / network / auto commit reminders.

What version of MD?

I was adding them on my secondary computer. Did not know that would make a difference

Also since you have been so helpful. Can you give me advice on how to make a backup and purge data from original register from year to year. I have 5 years of data in on the original register. It is getting very large

Thanks

By default, auto commit is disabled on secondary sync copies so that the reminders don’t commit on both the primary and secondary at the same time causing duplicates.

To backup, you do file, export backup.

In simple terms, you can’t easily purge prior years’ data. You, can manually delete txns but then your balances will be shot. I doubt this is causing you file size issues? What’s the actual issue?

Mine has about 22 years of transactions and is about 500 MB and runs a bit slowly on a 12 year old Mac.

What version of MD? I think at some point MD was modified to incorporate some set of transactions into the main file and remove the individual transactions. This reduced file sizes and sped things up. Also do you have a lot of attachments?

sth
