Files disappeared

I've just opened my Moneydance app and my files have disappeared! Any idea where they may be hiding. I am using Microsoft365 on a Windows 10 laptop

    Hello,

    Which version of Moneydance are you running, and have you recently changed versions?

    For the last few releases, data files are by default created in Moneydance's default file location. If you're not sure where you have been saving your data, that's a good place to start: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/file-locations-and-changes/de...

    If that doesn't help, you must have moved your data file at some point. If you're not sure where, I'd recommend searching your entire computer for all files and folders that end with the .moneydance files extension. If you fine your data file, use the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.moneydance data set.

    Version I have is 2014.5 (981). Not sure when I bought it but I think it was when Quicken stopped supporting their personal version.

    Hi Ethan – I’ve tried your suggestions and can’t find the files. The programme itself seems to be in demo mode and I’m not sure why this is. Any other ideas? Or do you think I should just give up on Moneydance?

    I've checked our records using your email address and I have located your purchase history. I can confirm your license key was purchased for use with Moneydance 2014, and it's also valid for use with Moneydance 2015.

    I thought that you can try downloading Moneydance 2015.8 (1372) from this page and use your current license key to register the program. (I resent it to your email address). Finally, you could try to open Moneydance and click on File > Open, you will see a list of all recently opened data files.

    If you cannot find your data file there, then click on Help > Show Document Folder, this will open your default data file location, where all of the data files are located.

    Another option is to click on Help > Show Archive Folder, this will open the default backup file location and you can choose to restore a backup.

    I think the problem with the license is that I have downloaded the current version of the prog. I’m happy to upgrade to this. When I do the upgrade transaction and payment will it provide me with a new licence number?
