Sync issues with repeating transactions

I have Moneydance installed on a WIndows 11 PC and a MacOS laptop. I sync using Dropbox. There seems to be an issue with duplication of automatic repeating transactions when synchronising, if the transaction has been recorded on one device ahead of the automatic date. When the sync occurs, both the manually triggered transaction and the scheduled automatic transaction are recorded, resulting in duplicates. [When I say manually triggered, I mean that I have gone to the list of recurring transaction and manually recorded the transaction, rather than waiting for it to be automatically entered]

    What version of MD?

This shouldn’t happen. Even a manual record of a txn will sync this change to the reminder record. And only the ‘master’ mode will ever trigger the auto reminders; unless you have two master modes?

It sounds like your sync copy is not quite fully uptodate / out-of-sync. If it were me, I would backup first, disable sync everywhere, delete the sync data; and recreate the sync copy again.

Then see if this is resolved?

    Hi Paul.

I would check under FILES (MONEYDANCE on Mac) – PREFERENCES – NETWORK that the box Auto-Commit Reminders (applies to current file on this computer) is only ticked on the Primary sync computer and not on the secondary computer.
This feature was specifically added to prevent duplicate reminder transactions being created by syncing.

    Hope this helps.
