While this could be an issue with the internet connection, or with a specific bank (Capital One) web site at the particular time I tried), a download request hung just after opening the internal browser. It stayed hung for a long time, and there seems to be no obvious way to stop it: neither the X for the browser nor the X for MD as a while would operate. Task Manager to the rescue. I tried twice.
Some time later, I tried again, and it worked. So the problem isn't likely due to the site content (it had worked before, also), but when there is a hang of some sort, it seems to be uninterruptible.
