I've noticed this problem over several earlier versions of Moneydance - so this is not something new.

Best I explain how to replicate:

Open moneydance and align to one side of screen

Open another application and align on the other side

Select any particular transaction in moneydance. In the screenshot below, you will Moneydance has highlighted the transaction in light grey.

Now, use ALT+TAB to shift focus to the other application. You will notice that Moneydance darkens another transaction and expands it. This is usually the last transaction on which the mouse was last (unknowingly) hovered upon.

Infact, this appears to be a feature within moneydance that helps you expand the transaction ( by simply pressing on the ALT key ) while hovering your mouse over it. Problem is - it displays OVER the next transaction instead of pushing it one line down.

This is quite annoying often when you are using another application ( example a bank-web-browser or excel sheet ) to find/compare/match transactions with moneydance. It obscures the view of next transaction.

Ideally, only the selected transaction ( grey in the screenshot ) must be left highlighted while focus is not within moneydance

Would appreciate changes into this.

RJrontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494478522021-10-22T07:57:11Z2021-10-22T07:58:21ZDisplay errors while out of focus

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi roneydxb

The Alt key in Moneydance is as a short cut key to in the Single Line mode provide a way to quickly see the second line of a transaction, memo, Tag, etc. Its been around for as long as I can remember, probable back to 2017 when I first started using Moneydance. I can see how this would clash with your work flow when using Windows Alt + Tab feature. Perhaps it would help if when you need to prevent the next transaction being obscured you change from the single to two mode by highlighting a transaction and right clicking.

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494478522021-10-22T09:27:00Z2021-10-22T09:27:00ZDisplay errors while out of focus

Hi Derekkent23,
Yes - thanks. I've thought about that - but that limits the number of transactions on the screen. I normally prefer the single line mode and delve into the two-line mode only when I want to get into the fine details like any notes i've inserted.

RJron
