I have been using MoneyDance for a number of years and using DropBox Syncing. I al thrilled with the possibility of iCloud Syncing. I purchased 2022.2 and have build 4060 but I am unable to get syncing to work computer to computer. Is there a "How To" available that details how to switch from DropBox to iCloud Syncing?

You both need to be on the same AppleID.

    Simple. File/Syncing/iCloud on first Mac.

On second Mac. File/New/Open Sync’d copy. iCloud.

Or primary (first Mac) has to make the .moneydance folder shared with the second apple id (???).

... yes (not tested), but won't work if you want iOS Apps to Sync too

    Dear Stuart,

I am still waiting for IK to respond to my help request and I need to
get things working. I am an attorney and I need to sync my Trust Account
on my home and office computers. At the moment they each have one file
that is the same but I can't make a change on one computer and have it
show up on the other. When I use the method you suggest for syncing it
does not sync all of the accounts I use. The upshot is that I have
    numerous MoneyDance Data files.

Is there a way to get back to DropBox syncing at least for a while?
Should I delete all Data files except the ones on each computer that
match? Or am I doing it wrong?

I need a reset and I appreciate your help. I just have to be extremely
careful with this account as I am sure you can understand.

    Thank you,

    Mike Sohon

OK, easy to fix.. Personally I would say that dropbox works and iCloud is new and perhaps has issues, so I agree I would go back to DB for now. I am assuming that:
1/ You have a good datafile somewhere?
2/ You have taken a backup..

The procedure below will create a brand new Sync relationship and new sync data:
    Open the good primary dataset.
0/ Make sure that Dropbox is installed on both computers and logged in and syncing files properly.....
    1/ File/Syncing/ set to Don't Sync
2/ Load and run the toolbox extension. Options menu. Hacker mode (don't worry, it's just my terminology). Select Force RESET Sync Settings....
    3/ Restart MD
4/ File/Syncing/Dropbox Folders.... Let it sync and complete. Once done restart MD
5/ On the secondary computer. File/New/Open Sync'd File and select Dropbox Folders. You will see a list of sync folders.. Choose the one you just created (make a note of the long number ID you select)... Away you go.

OPTIONAL.. Once all is well... You can delete the old sync folder.. for Dropbox:
Toolbox, top right, Open MD Folder, open Sync folder. You can then delete the older sync folders that you no longer need (with long numbers)... But of course keep the most recent with the number you selected

Followed your instructions exactly but when I went to secondary computer
the file I had just created was not there. Question: Should I have
created a new PassPhrase or was it OK to use the same one?

The same pass phrase should be fine. The problem is that you aren't seeing the files on the secondary computer drop box. Are you sure these are the same dropbox accounts?

Open the dropbox on the secondary computer.
    Type Command-Shift-G
In the drop down sheet box type the following ".money" (i.e. without quotes but include the leading period (dot)
    type "tab" key
You should get a completion string to ".moneydancesync/" and type the enter key
You should see a list of synced account books

If they are not there, then try the same procedure on the primary computer. Those folders should have identical content if dropbox is working correctly.

OK, on your second computer go to Finder.
    Click Dropbox on the left
... can you see your dropbox folder?

Can you see .moneydancesync in grey?
    ... if not, hold down/click SHIFT-CMD-DOT
Now can you see .moneydancesync in grey?

    Navigate into the .moneydancesync folder
... send screenshot of the contents.....

If you cannot see this folder, then please verify you have dropbox installed locally. Try dropping a file into dropbox and verify that it transfers to the other computer?

    Hi there,

I know it's been a while but I have not been idle. I have updated all of
my accounts on ONE of my computers. They are balanced and current.
Unfortunately during all of this I have generated a number of accounts.
I need to get syncing going and would really like to use iCloud. I also
need to delete inaccurate (mistakenly created) accounts. Infinite Kind
never got back to me. (Or are you from Infinite Kind?)

My thought is to delete everything from computer #2 and then sync with
the computer that is up to date. I would also like to use MoneyDance on
my iPhone and iPad but I don't see an updated app or an option to sync
    them using iCloud.

I hope you are still available to help with this. A phone conversation
    would probably be a godsend!

    Thanks,

    Mike Sohon
