Hi all,
I've been entering data on my iPhone for some months, and yesterday I installed Moneydance in my PC (Windows). After that, I installed the Network Sync Extension and added my iPhone but... ALL MY DATA FROM THE IPHONE WAS REPLACED BY THE DATA FROM THE PC (and there was no data in the PC).
Can you help please?? How can I recover my previous data??
Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

I'm unclear from your description if you were setting up a desktop version of the program for the first time yesterday. Were you entering transactions into your iPhone before you ever set up Moneydance to sync with your main data file on your computer? Or had you previously set up Moneydance to sync with a different computer, and you were trying to install Moneydance on a new desktop computer?

Thanks for your quick reply, I hope I can clarify it now ;)

Actually, I set up a desktop version in 2010, but then I had a problem with my computer and since then, I only entered data in the iPhone. So, after so much time, I was trying to set up a new desktop version of the program, and make a backup from the iPhone to the PC. So, the main data file should be in the iPhone, not in the PC.

    Hi Rafael,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the iPhone Moneydance app isn't a stand-alone app; it's designed to be synced to a primary Moneydance data file on your computer on at least a somewhat regular basis. It's unfortunately almost certain that your data is lost from the iPhone, however, can you tell me whether you were using Dropbox syncing or Wifi syncing? If you were using Dropbox syncing, maybe we can figure out a way to restore your data, although I want to make sure to not get your hopes up, since we probably won't be able to restore your data.
