Prices do NOT round. They are calculated from value / qty

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495232982021-12-02T17:00:34Z2021-12-02T17:00:35ZDecimal places for security prices

Thanks.. do you know if we can request this to be a preference, to set it at 2 decimal places? It would help in reconciling balances with brokerage accounts :)

Aruntag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495232982022-02-23T13:03:53Z2022-02-23T13:03:56ZDecimal places for security prices

I am new to Moneydance. When populating a new file with historical transactions I was dismayed to see that prices that were shown with two decimal places in the source account downloaded in Moneydance with many more places. And I was not able to correct them in the Moneydance file. The staff does not seem to want to talk about it, so I expect it is a "feature" that is not amenable to change.
If anyone has, or comes up with a way to limit the price shown in transactions to two decimal places I would appreciate information on how to do it.

Load/run toolbox extension and run the security menu/list decimal places report. If it show 2dpc then you can use the edit decimal places function within toolbox.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495232982022-02-23T14:27:06Z2022-02-23T14:27:08ZDecimal places for security prices

Stuart Beesley,
Yes, I am talking about the way the price of a security appears in a downloaded transaction. These are historical prices which appear in the source with two decimal places but download showing multiple places. At least for some transactions I know that the price that shows in the Moneydance transaction is incorrect. It appears, as I believe you have indicated elsewhere, to have been calculated from two other downloaded numbers.
I'll look at the toolbox extension you reference to see if it helps.
Thank you,
