How to enter a check

Stupd question but I can't seem to find a place to put a check number in the register. I only write about 1 check a year so this is not very often.
See attached for my puzzle.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

Scratch this.
I saw that the check number column was hidden.
