Reports
I'm a bit puzzled by the reporting setup in MD 2010.
1 Why has the Reports icon gone from the top of the window? Is it (and the Home icon) now only accessible from the side bar (for which I have no use), tools menu or keyboard combinations? I preferred them at the top of the window.
2 Why does the Net Worth report no longer subtotal by bank account, credit cards, investment accounts etc - or maybe I just haven't figured out how to do this?
3 How do I get a detailed income and expenditure report for a single specific account, as I could with MD2008?

Hi Martin
1) The functionality was removed from the tool bars as there were just too many ways to accomplish the same task with introduction of the side bar. I realize that for those for those who do not use the side bar this is far from ideal. I have created a trac ticket suggesting that the toolbar be optional. Here is the link:
http://moneydance.com/trac/ticket/2579
If you register an log into trac you can vote on tickets.
2) I am not sure why the net worth report no longer subtotals by acount type. Perhasp the Account balances report would better meet your needs.
3) I am not certain that this was an option in MD2008 attached is a screenshot of the detailed income and expense report options in MD2008, there is no option to limit it to a specific account.
There is also an existing ticket for this issue:

FYI, Ben, there was already trac ticket 2330 for bringing back the home icon. People searching for "home icon" or "reports icon" won't find the new one 2579 because it doesn't use any of those words, and it isn't apparent to us users that in MD2008 it was an actual toolbar rather than 3 icons. Just saying, in case you want to merge the 2 tickets and clarify what we want. Because we do want those icons back. Perhaps those with wide-screen monitors like the side-bar, but it takes up too much space for me so I usually keep it off too.

Thanks Ben.
1 I'll vote on the icon options but how do I do that? Do I add a
comment or is 'up-vote'/'down-vote' something to do with this? It's not
obvious.
2 You're right, the Accounts Balances report is what I was looking
for.
3 Just to be clear, in previous MD versions I could view a report of
detailed income & expenditure on just, say, 'Telephone'. I cannot fathom
how to do that with MD2010 which seems only to throw up the data on all
accounts. To get to 'Telephone' alone, you'd have to uncheck each other
individual account - there's no 'clear all' option.
Regards
Martin

Hi Martin
With regard to point 3) I am sorry I misunderstood you. In order to limit the categories that you want to be included in the income and expense report you need to click on the "Individual accounts" option on the income and expense report options window. See the attached screen shot. It might be the case that your report options window is too narrow to show this option. Make you window a little wider if you need to.
You can then click the little blue "none" link at the top of the category list and then individually check the categories that you want included.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
