just a user - you can set up a new category with any transaction - just type something different than you did before.
Can you say more about what the problem is?

Thanks dtd - Money Dancer was not saving the change. I had transferred to
a new computer. I re registered the software and rebooted and this seems to
have fixed the problem.

I'm glad to hear things seem to be sorted out. You can also create new categories from the Tools -> Categories menu from the Moneydance menubar.
