Chase Download Transactions always up to date

In the fall, Chase changed SSL certifications. Ultimately, MD had a solution for that which worked. In the prelude to that, I accidentally clicked the Reset Sync for the account. Now, although I can handshake successfully, my transactions are always up to date. I can still manually import transactions, though.

My other chase account downloads transactions just fine. I didn't hit Reset Sync on this one.

It seems plausible that I blew it up somehow. Is there some way to get this existing account to begin to sync transactions again or do I have to create a new one?

I'm using MD 2008r4 680 on Debian GNU/Linux.

Thanks.

    Jason,

To disable your current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen, follow these steps:

    1) Select your bank account in Moneydance
    2) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu
    3) Click the "Disable" button
    4) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu (again)
    5) Click the "New Connection" button and select your bank and hit OK
    6) Continue with the setup process, entering your username/password
    7) Repeat steps 1-6 for any additional accounts

Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.

Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems after recreating your connection.

Yes, that sounds like the process to resolve the issue with the older
    TLS certificate.

I followed the steps, but it did not resolve the problem I am having
with "account is already up to date" when it is not. (It's now 30 days
    behind.)

Is there some other process I should attempt to follow?

    Thank you.

I have upgraded to 2010r2 and have the same problem. It tells me 0 transactions downloaded, but transactions exist when I visit Chase directly and download my transactions as OFX.

If you are not using the most recent version (2010r2 build 743), please update to that version. You can download the update here. This update has resolved a few key issues our users have been experiencing, including several connection issues. Please let me know if your issue persists and we will look into other solutions.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.

I downloaded, installed, and started the latest build, 743. When attempting to update, I am still told there are 0 transactions downloaded.

Again, I accidentally hit "Reset Sync" on this specific account back in November and it has coincidently never worked again. That's the only thing I did differently with this account relative to my other Chase account, which works just fine.

    Thanks.

    Jason,

This is a sticky one. Would you please create a new blank Moneydance file and try to connect to that account through the new file? This will assist us in determining the source of the issue.

Interestingly enough, it fails with a new file. I just downloaded for another Chase account successfully with the original file, though, so Chase is working.

That destroys my fantasy of just creating a 'new' account for this card number and moving on. Ugh.

    Hi Jason,

I wonder if, when you did the reset sync, it reset something on Chase's end. Could you contact Chase and verify that this particular account is still activated for direct connections? You may be able to do this through the Chase website, but you may also need to call them in case something is just screwy in their system.

That's what I was afraid of. I didn't know that "Reset Sync" was a destructive operation. Sigh.

    Hi Jason,

Normal, reset sync isn't destructive. It just tells the bank that we'd like to download everything they have again, instead of just new transactions. However, Chase is a little notorious for doing slightly strange things with OFX sometimes, so it doesn't hurt to verify with them that everything is still ok with your account on their end.

Alternatively, you could try clicking reset sync again on that account, to see if it fixes itself that way.

Wow. What a disaster. I've been going round and round with Chase trying to find someone who has any idea that you can sync online using banking software. I just keep saying yes whenever anyone asks if it's Quicken. At that point, they transfer me.

Ugh, now I'm told there is a $9.95 fee for what has worked forever for free. I wonder if I just screwed myself? "Reset Sync" is pretty serious stuff. Ugh. Rather annoyed now.

Agggrrr. Apparently the credit card number in the account settings was completely wrong. I never, ever changed it. However, changing it to the correct number fixed it. I hope this person at Chase who has me on hold doesn't blow it all up or disable it and start charging me a fee now that it works.

So as a note, it might be useful to verify someone has their correct card # in their account settings under Edit Account.

    Thanks.
