I just started receiving error 400 when downloading my TRowe Price Roth IRA account:

There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: java.io.IOException: HTTP Error:400 Bad Request

Ive tried disabling and resetting up the online download for this account, but still receive the error. Any ideas?

Thank you

I'm having the same problem on a USAA investment account. I've started over by setting up online access from scratch again and it doesn't seem to help. The odd thing is that I have other USAA investment accounts that are working fine.
Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem.

    azguy6,

I'm very sorry for our delayed response. We've been quite overwhelmed with cases lately.

It will help me troubleshoot the issue if you could provide me with the following information:

    • what version of Moneydance you are using (available from the Help->About Moneydance window)
    • what version of Java you are using (available from the Help->About Moneydance window)

One thing you can check is to make sure that the account type in Moneydance matches the account type that your bank is sending. For example, if you try to connect a Moneydance Bank-type account to an investment account at your bank, you're get errors.

    BrimiT,

Are you getting the exact same error message as azguy6? If not, it would be easier if you could start a new thread with your error, so that we can deal with your issues separately. Could you please also include information about your Moneydance and Java version, as well as the exact error message you are receiving?

    Hi Jessica-

    Here is the information requested:
    Moneydance 2010 (741)
    OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 i386
    Java: 1.6.0_17 (Apple Inc.)

The account is set correctly as it was downloading previously. I have disabled and reset up the account, and it does make the inital connection to show the account number, but it refuses to download and just gives the 400 Error.

    Thanks

I believe the error I am getting is the same. I'm getting it for one account at USAA, even though I have other accounts of the same type, at the same institutions that are working fine.

Like azguy6, the accounts used to work correctly. And I too have disabled and reset the accounts. It makes the initial connection, allows me to select the specific account, but then fails to download any transactions.

    My setup details.
    Moneydance 2010 (740)
    Java Version: 1.6.0_17
    Mac OS X 10.6.2

Here is some other information --

I created a blank, new MD file and added the TRowe Account. It downloaded no problem. Went back to my other file and used the same settings, and received the "400" error.

Solved the problem -- see below...

Solved the problem-- I went into my file and turned file encryption off, told the program to forget all passwords and saved the file.

Quit the program, reopened the file and let the program re-ask me for the passwords. Doing this somehow reset the connection and allowed it to connect successfully.

Turned encryption back on, saved and quit again. Reopened again and it appears that it connected/downloaded all accounts successfully.

Strange that I had to go through all that but glad its working now.

That seems to have worked for me as well.
    Thanks for the solution.
