Budget Problem
Having a problem with the budget tool.
1) When I create a budget item for "Mortgage" category, it does not pull the totals in. When I make a mortgage payment, I split the payment into 3 categories all under the "Mortgage" umbrella (Mortgage:Principal, Mortgage:Interest, Mortage:Escrow). On the budget window, I only want to see it rolled together, but it doesnt total.
2) When I create the "Mortgage" listing in the budget window, it causes MD to get unresponsive. See screenshot to see what I mean (sidebar/top bar disappear). Only happens with the budget tool & when I do mortgage.

Hi Trevor
Budgeting for mortgage payments is not really possible as the loan (Mortgage) account is not an expense account it is a liability account. There really is no way around this. Given that Moneydance cannot create parent accounts that have children of different types.
If you really want to budget mortgage payments the only way to do this is to not use a loan account for your mortgage and just have a single mortgage expense account.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
