Restore of old database immediately syncs all transactions to current date
I'm running macOS and trying to find a problem with a beginning balance in reconciliation. I wanted to restore a previous time machine version of my Moneydance database and look at transactions in it. I found that as soon as I opened the newly restored db, MD synced all the transactions up to today, so there was no way to check what it looked like at a previous time. How do I get around this? Or... how do I find an OOB in the beginning balance? I checked all transactions in MD against the current month and previous month and they match... I have no way to know when any error occurred, such as an accidental deleting of a transaction. Thanks

You really need to restore a xxx.moneydancearchive file and open that and deselect the retain sync settings.
