unable to add transaction
I am trying to enter a new transaction "interest received" for my investments but "Ctrl N" nor the radio button "New transaction" works. The functions work in regular type of transactions, ie credit card, etc ...

What version of MD - there was a preview version recently that did what you say.
If you were using a recent preview version, try updating to the latest one and see if that fixes the issue.

version 2022.3 (4077). Updater says I have the latest Registered version. How do I go back ?

just a user - if you want to go back, find the download you made before you downloaded 4077. (Most people can't find it)
This bug was fixed in preview version 4078:
* Fixed new-transaction action handler when switching between investment accounts
However, only one preview version is available at a time (the others are deprecated), so the current preview version is 4087.
I normally advise against preview versions as they can contain beta stuff that is meant for testers, but 4077-4087 changes have been fairly exclusively bugfixes.
You can find preview releases at moneydance.com/preview, and can review all the changes by clicking on the "text" link in blue.
Your decision on which way you want to go.

Upgrading to the latest preview version should fix the problem for you.
Moneydance 2022.4 (4087) is now available to download from this page.
