Copy to clipboard now results in an A in front of every currency amount ie A£250

I used to be able to copy to clipboard and input into Excel and see figures displayed correctly.
Now all figures have an A with a squiggle above it before the £ sign. (See attached example.)
This looks a mess and also prevents Excel from recognising them as numbers.
I'm guessing this may have happened following the latest upgrade?
How do I fix this please?
Thank you.

It's due to java changing something internally.

Workaround. Click Save to CSV.... (encoded for excel), then open the CSV....
