Colo(u)r Theme - Classic Theme for Mac issue

Hi,
I see that there are at least 65 discussions related to MD color themes (several of which appear to be closed without resolution), yet I don't see one that addresses this issue specifically:
I'm using the latest MD 2022.4 (build 4087) version on a Mac, and when using the "Classic" theme in Preferences/Appearances, I notice at least two issues:
1) The budget pulldown selection on the summary page is whited out when a specific budget is selected (font and background appear to be white for the selected budget). This is also the case when selecting the pulldown options for color themes in the Preferences/Appearances window.
2) The tabs in several Pop-Up windows use an "outline or shadow" font which is very difficult to read (Moneydance Preferences pop-up and the edit Transaction Reminder pop-up, as two examples)

I've included two attachments to depict the two scenarios above. As others have previously posted, I can find no "cheat sheet" that clearly indicates which custom color attribute(s) can be modified to change the appearance in these two use cases. Other than these two items, the Classic color theme meets my needs in general. Please advise, and thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,

We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

This could be a visual problem with the colors used in some situations in Moneydance on Mac. Is it possible that you have your system running in dark mode, and Moneydance is using the light theme, perhaps? In those cases, the OK button and other features will have a white foreground on a white background and appear blank/disabled. The solution is to either switch Moneydance to the dark theme in the preferences or switch your computer to use "light mode".

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

    Hi Maddy,

You are correct in that I am using my mac in dark mode, however, if I switch to Light mode, I still am not able to get correct colors to appear in the standard color themes in MD. Below are a couple of examples:

    1) Budget bar background for “yellow” warning color appears olive color:

    2) “Red” over-budget bar color is dark red with bold black font, making it hard to read (need to lighten background and provide option to turn of bold font):

I see no method of “saving as” when creating a custom color theme, so when I select “Custom”, I can’t base if off the “Classic” color theme, and then just modify a few of color theme attributes (the two above for example). The current “custom” theme default values are way off from the “Classic” theme, and I’d rather not attempt to figure out each of the attributes from the Classic theme and start all over creating one “Custom” theme:

Any advice on making very minor changes to the default themes would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Tom

Changing the theme to flat dark should hopefully resolve the problem for you.
