<p>The location of the data file is determined the first time you
save. When you first saved Moneydance will have prompted you to
enter a file name and a location. If you do not recall what you
called the file or where you put it you can use your computers
search function to list all files ending with the ".md" extension
without the quotes.</p>

Not to mention all of the OFX files that I have to re-download.
Some of them may not be available any longer from my bank and
credit card companies. This is really bad. I should have never
downloaded that newer version. But every time I opened MoneyDance
which is daily it kept prompting me to load the newer version.</p>
<p>Also on MoneyDance Preferences it says it is saving your data
everyday. Backup has the settings as Saving Daily.</p>

<p>Do you know the location of your Moneydance data file? Are you
able to open it? If you open it does it contain any data?</p>
<p>Please tell me exactly what happen when you run moneydance. It
is most likely that you data has not been lost unless you have
explicitly deleted your data file.</p>
<p>Please search you computer for all files ending with ".md"
without the quotes.</p>

<p>Yes my file name is BZ Checking.md. But it is not complete. When
I upgraded it lost all this data.</p>
<p>Thanks for responding. I need help soon Tax time is around the

<p>You say that you have daily backups turned on, if you look in
your backup folder you should see files named something like "BZ
Checking.md-2010-02-14" if you rename one of those files by adding
the .md extension to the end of the name e.g. rename "BZ
Checking.md-2010-02-14" to "BZ Checking.md-2010-02-14.md" you will
be able to open that file in moneydance. Please try this and let me
know if the data is also missing in the backups.</p>

<p>I don't know if you got my last email. However all the backups
are from 2009. For some reason all the current ones are not
available let's say something in January which would be ideal.</p>
<p>Still trying to retrieve the file either the md file or make
moneydance go back to what it was before I downloaded the latest
version.</p>
<p>Thanks,<br>

older backup files. If you select File->"Open Recent" from
within Moneydance you should see all the most recently opened
files. One of those should be your current file. If that is not the
case then do a search of you computer for all files ending in
".md"</p>
