The next time you have to force quit, but before you relaunch the program, can you find and attach your errlog.txt file? This should capture any error messages that are happening right before the crash, even if they aren't being actively displayed on the screen.

If you're using Mac OS, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

or:

Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and type in:

~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

~/Library/Containers/Moneydance/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If/when it happens again, is that the proper file to send?

On macOS Big Sur and Monterey the error log should be at:

~/Library/Containers/Moneydance/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

So you have found the right file.

The error log is in different locations on different versions of macOS.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/550762622022-07-23T05:48:34Z2022-07-23T05:48:34ZHangs occasionally

Send your current console file in anyway, there may be something obvious..

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/550762622022-07-26T21:40:42Z2022-09-07T14:01:52ZHangs occasionally

It just happened, again. Did you capture this log with MD force closed, or did you restart MD and then get this log? (The latter is no good as the restart will wipe the old log)

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/550762622022-07-27T11:42:19Z2022-09-07T14:01:52ZHangs occasionally

I captured this after I had to force-quit the application and prior to restarting it.

I’m pretty confident this causes the issue.

ctmorrison
