    Hi,

Which Morgan Stanley connection are you using, "Morgan Stanley Smith Barney - SB" or "Morgan Stanley Smith Barney - MS"? If you are not using the "SB" connection, could you try switching to that one to see if it resolves the issue?

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm thinking that one of the recent oracle java updates has triggered the error. Maybe a certificate within the java security cacerts file needs to be updated?

    Hi all,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. We're not quite sure if the problem with this connection is on our side or something with Morgan Stanley, and we're looking into the issue. Since I'm not quite sure where the problem is yet, I'm not sure when we'll have it fixed, but I'll let you know as soon as on know more. Hopefully we can get it resolved quickly.

    this must be related.

I am now experiencing the following error for

    1) AT&T Universal Card, and
    2) Vanguard:

A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: java.io.IOException: Unexpected end of message while reading headers

Did someone anger the gods at Java?????

Just down loaded the new build (864). Seems to work, in that it will now connect to Morgan Stanley Smith Barney -MS. But now MSSB-MS does not accept my account numbers. Have entered them with and without dashes. Help!! I am using a MAC.

    Hi Roy,

Have you tried contacting MSSB and making sure that your account isn't locked and that you have the right login credentials? Because Moneydance uses the standard OFX online banking protocol, if their customer service says they don't support Moneydance you can just say that you are connecting using Quicken, as there is no difference in the two apps from their perspective.

I also had the same issue for the last several weeks with my Morgan Stanley accounts. The new download seems to have fixed the problem.

This comment was split into a new private discussion: MSSB error 400 download problem

I continue to be unable to download my investment data from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. The text below is that Online Error that I get:

There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

Bank Name: Morgan Stanley Smith Barney - MS

The error code reported by the server was: 400

Please verify the account number that you have entered for this request.

I have talked to MSSB and they say my accounts are not blocked. I can and have downloaded my data using Quicken. If the OFX online banking protocol is the same for both Quicken and MD then why would one work and the other wouldn't?

I am using the 864 build on a iMac using Mountain Lion OS. After downloading the 864 build I disabled all of my MSSB accounts that I had entered and redid them using MSSB-MS.

Please advise as to what I should do now?

I downloaded new version but still get same as well. Should I delete EVERYTHING and start over? Could there be something in cache that is interferring? Thoughts?
