App store says Moneydance already installed. Moneydance says not purchased. Have receipt.

Now what? Thank you

    I'm a fellow user.

You cannot mix the Moneydance software from different sources. The licensing schemes are not compatible.

If you have the direct version installed and then purchase from the App store, you need to uninstall the direct version then install a copy sourced from the App store.

Your data is kept separately so uninstalling and installing software should make no difference.

    Hi Pamela,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Firstly, please note the Mac App Store version of Moneydance comes with an embedded license and the upgrade process differs from the one outlined here that applies to licenses bought directly from our website.

Secondly, the latest version of Moneydance is now available in the Mac app store. Generally, you should update using the Mac App Store if you purchased Moneydance from there. You should be able to download the version relevant to you by signing into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID used at the time of purchase.

Alternatively, if you would prefer using the direct version you can request a refund on their site at http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/ and purchase a license from our website.
In this way not only you can install Moneydance on different platforms but you can benefit from more frequent upgrades as well.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
