"Help>"Show backup folder" does nothing at all

It is years since I tried to restore a backup and now I want to look for the latest backup version to restore. I think/hope that I save 5 versions, but I cannot find them.

When I started this restore process an hour or so ago, as I started to explore my options using "Show backup folder", I could see that 5 versions had been selected and there was a location specified for backups. . Clicking on "Show backup folder" option NOW produces no result at all, as if the click itself does not work. I am using W10.

"Show documents folder" takes me to moneydance\documents folder which has in it a moneydance file with "date modified" of just now. This must be my current working file. There are also other files from 2020.
I have a moneydance\archive\backup folder which has in it a series of files from 2020.But nothing current.

I use this program at least every week.

Does this mean I have no backups, just a current working file? As I close the program it briefly shows a window saying that it is backing up but that is too quick to read.
I have closed the program and restarted with no change. I do not want to do that too often as I might overwrite all backups.

I hope you can help

Regards
Alec

    I am not support staff.

I am using Windows 10 (for my example).
    Go to: File
    Select: Preferences
    Select: Backups (tab)
Hopefully this tab will show you the location of your backups.

    Kind Regards,

    Pete L.

    Hi awc2060

If you still cant find a recent Moneydance backup file and you are using at least the last build of Moneydance 2021 or 2022, then install the extension Toolbox from under EXTENSIONS – MANAGE EXTENSIONS and run Toolbox.
Select FIND MY DATASET(S) AND BACKUPS follow the process to find backups using the dropdowns.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, sorry about the delay. I still find the file system
confusing but never mind in general Moneydance meets my needs. I eventually
recreated the situation that I needed the files to be in by other means.

    Regards
