A reminder, or an auto-committed transaction? If the latter, then this is correct. Auto-commit, marks the reminder (internally) as committed and moves on.

The simplest way to re-enter such a missing transaction is to find a recent one and right-click Duplicate Transaction and change the date and any other pertinent details.

Alternatively, reset the start date on the reminder to a recent past date and restart Moneydance or re-open the dataset. In this instance, I'd back up first in case your results are not as you expect.

A fellow user.

tgilbert666tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/560109422022-10-07T23:47:14Z2023-04-12T18:42:45Zauto-commit does not re-schedule a reminder that was deleted

I am referring to reminders. And I have tried your suggestion. I used
duplicate in my case. But i had deleted 6 future dates for a weekly debit
and hade to do 6 duplicates. I was hoping for only one action: simply
re-order the 6 at once.

johnh44tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/560109422022-10-08T00:04:51Z2022-10-08T00:04:51Zauto-commit does not re-schedule a reminder that was deleted

Hmm. So if you deleted the reminder, as you say, then you could use Right-click "Create reminder from transaction" to recreate the Reminder and that new/replacement reminder would recreate the future transactions all at once depending on AutoCommit and the start date (and re-opening the dataset)..

If a reminder is removed, AutoCommit won't do anything because it is part of the removed reminder and I don't understand the question? The Auto-commit intention is removed when the reminder is removed (but any already auto-committed transactions remain), and consequently auto-committed transactions after the start date are created by the Reminder when AutoCommit is set and the dataset is (re-)opened.

My response was in the event that you had removed an auto-committed transaction hence "if the latter" and - whilst possible - duplicate wouldn't be the simplest method, as you say.

I think we might be misunderstanding one another.

tgilbert666tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/560109422022-10-08T17:05:30Z2023-04-12T18:42:46Zauto-commit does not re-schedule a reminder that was deleted

Yes, a misunderstanding. What I deleted were five scheduled transactions.
It seems that the transaction reminder "remembers" those deletions and will
not reschedule them when I go back to the reminder screen and resubmit them
for those five consecutive weeks. Thus I had to schedule each one manually.
I this the reminder function should be allowed to override deletions,
perhaps as a user choice. If it IS possible, I have not found it. Hope
that's clearer now. Sorry for the confusion.

johnh44
