Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

I believe you're using Windows - is your OS Windows 10?

After you've attempted to open Moneydance, can you locate and send me a copy of your Moneydance error logs?
The logs should include information about what's happening, and why Moneydance isn't able to open successfully.

The logs are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file. Using Windows, the logs should be located at:

C:\Users(YourUserName).moneydance\errlog.txt

If you want to try accessing the program in the meantime, I'd recommend you reset your Moneydance preferences file. This will reset the program to 'factory settings' so your imported data file should not be associated.

To do this, you have to rename your config.dict file.
Using Windows, you'll find the file in the same location as your error log file:

C:\Users(YourUserName).moneydance\config.dict

Once you've found your config.dict file, close Moneydance ensure it's closed fully (force quit if you have to). Then rename the file to config2.dict

Once you've done this, open Moneydance again. It will appear as though you've just installed the program for the first time, so you'll see the Welcome window.

Your data file may be listed on the right of the Welcome window. You can attempt to open the existing file again, or choose 'Create New Account Set' and setup a new file.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
