Stable?
I just downloaded the 2010r2 trial. To try it out, I downloaded about 50 transactions from my bank in QIF format and imported. I entered about 3 transactions. I ran a couple reports. I turned on "Save on every quit" in preferences, then tried to Quit. It wouldn't. Moneydance still responded (it hasn't completely frozen) so I could use the program - I just couldn't CLOSE it. I tried Cmd-Q, then Moneydance/Quit from the menu bar, then right-click Moneydance/Quit in the dock. None of them worked. Finally, I clicked the red radial in the top/left of the register window and it successfully closed.
I re-opened Moneydance and was able to Quit it using Cmd-Q or Moneydance/Quit just fine. This doesn't seem like normal behavior to me; just concerned about general stability.

Michael
Did you manually save your file before trying to quit. Before the auto save feature functions it is necessary to save the moneydance file at least one manually to tell the software where to store the data. Was Moneydance prompting you for a save location when you tried to quit?
If that was not the problem I recall there was a bug in this release that only showed its self with some version of java that prevented the application from closing. That bug was fixed in one of the later preview releases. I suggest you install the current latest preview release. In my opinion it is much better than the current stable release. It can be downloaded from here:

Yes, I had saved. I toggle the 'save on every quit' back off and it didn't change anything.
I'll download the beta. Thanks.

It just happened again, with the new beta. I could Save or do anything else in Moneydance except Quit. Only the red radial on the register window actually worked.

When you run Moneydance could you bring up the Error console. Select Help-Console Window. This will display a trace of where the problem comes from. If the problem reaccurs could you please copy and paste the contenst of the error console to this discussion.
