I have recently purchased Moneydance and find it to be a great product very easy to use. However, I am trying to export data and having exported the information I am asked for a password. Can anyone help me as to where the password is set. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

    Hi Trevor

What process did you follow to export the data? What file format did you export it to? What program are you trying to import it into? Which program is asking you for a password?

    Thanks

    Hi Ben

    Thanks for your reply.

I used file export and then selected the QIF format and completed the export. I then located the file and tried to open it in Personal Accountz whereupon I was asked for a password.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks

    Hi Trevor

I am certain that the QIF file generated by Moneydance is not password protected. In fact there is no way for MD to put a password on a qif file it not part of the QIF specification.

Maybe you are trying to open the qif file in Personal Accountz rather than importing it?

    Sincerely

    Hi Ben

Thanks for this - yes I was tryiong to open it rather than importing it.

I have now tried importing it but have a message re the format of the date. Will carry on trying.

    Thanks for your help
