importing accounts

I have just switched to the Mac and Moneydance from Quicken on the pc. I was able to import all my transcriptions from Quicken. However, when I went to reconcile today the balance wasn't correct. It was correct in Quicken so I reconciled there and then tried to import the file into the previous Moneydance account. It imported ok but it doubled every transaction. Finally I deleted the accounts and imported again... same thing. Finally I uninstalled Moneydance and reinstalled and lo and behold there are all my old accounts with triple the proper balances. How can I start over clean or delete these accounts permanentily so that I can import the accounts with the proper balances?

    Hi,
You un-installed the program but it appears that your data file remains. When you are running Moneydance you will see at the top of the window in the title bar the location of the data file you have open. You can if you like, go there and delete that file and also probably delete any other data files in that folder that end in the extension .md , Alternatively, you could go to the file menu and select 'New' and generate a new and blank file from there to work on.
Let me know if your transaction duplication issue persists and we will work out a solution.
    Sincerely,
    Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support
