I liked the sound of Moneydance so downloaded your program to try it before I buy it. Downloaded ok, set up and worked with it some ok, then had to close the program for something and when I went back and tried to open it is when the problem started. It won't open and says the following: "No JVM could be found on your system, please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 64- bit JDK or JRE or download a JRE from Java.com Can this be fixed, corrected or should I just try another program??? I don't understand computer language

I have a HP computer about 4/5 years old running windows

thanks April Harrison

April Harrisontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572109922022-12-18T03:11:12Z2022-12-18T03:11:12ZTrying to set up Moneydance

Hello April,

That's strange. Moneydance is installed with the Java that error message is asking for, and since you ran the program already, it should have already been there. I'd say try installing the program again from our website, which should reinstall Java as well. If that doesn't help, let us know if the error message changes, and also the exact version of Windows you are running.

I've actually already reinstalled Moneydance. I can make the program work when I pin it to the start menu or when its pinned to the taskbar, and I open the program from there. I tried to make a short cut for it on the desktop and its that app that I get the error message from.

So its working, I just can't seem to get a shortcut on the desktop that will work for me.

I have windows 10

April Harrisontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572109922022-12-18T04:54:47Z2022-12-18T04:54:47ZTrying to set up Moneydance

That is unusual.

If you have Moneydance in the start menu right click and select shortcut which should make a copy, then left clicking and hold the button down and drag this icon to the desktop, that should make a working copy on your desktop.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572109922022-12-18T15:10:20Z2022-12-18T15:10:24ZTrying to set up Moneydance

Thanks Ethan and DWG, its all set up and working!! and I have a shortcut on my desktop.
